Altea, on the Costa Blanca, has a truly genuine atmosphere. The village has kept the characteristics of a typical spanish pueblo with the old town perched high up on a hill and its narrow streets running along whitewashed houses, small shops and restaurants.
Fishermen, artists and quality tourists from around Europe meet in this pretty little town with its own well kept sandy beach, rocky bays and coves. Good cuisine is otherwise well represented on the beachwalk.

Thereby the name “Costa Blanca” for this coastal part of Spain.

While downtown Altea offers all sorts of modern shopping facilitys, the old town alleys are full of small shops selling art, fashion and handicraft.
It is easy to reach Altea – 45 min from Alicante international airport, 60 min from Valencia. Train and national buses stop 3 min walk away from the apartment. Once in Altea, everything is within walking distance or why not try one of the communal “rent as you go” (cheap) bicycles that can be pick-ed up just in front of the apartment?
Altea has many nice restaurants. We especially recommend a visit to “Xeito” which serves excelent spanish tapas, and has a good selection of spanish beers and wines. It is located in the same building as the apartment, between the rental service office and the local news paper agent:
